Former Pastor Convicted of Rape and Sexual Abuse in Frankfurt

The ex-pastor received a sentence of over four years for crimes committed against a student 15 years ago, though he will not immediately serve time.

The 65-year-old former pastor was sentenced to four years and two months for the rape and sexual abuse of a student in 2009 and 2010.
The court also ordered him to pay 30,000 euros in damages to the victim, who continues to suffer from the trauma.
The victim, now 29, only reported the crimes in 2017, leading to a lengthy legal process that began in 2020.
Despite claims of amnesia and poor health, the court deemed the defendant fit to stand trial.
The verdict is not yet final, as the defense and prosecution have not decided whether to appeal.
