Former Police Chief Alan Hostetter Sentenced to Over 11 Years for Role in Jan. 6 Capitol Riots

Hostetter, who planned with others to obstruct the Electoral College vote count, came prepared with tactical gear and weapons on the day of the riots.

Former California police chief Alan Hostetter was sentenced to more than 11 years in prison for his role in the Jan. 6, 2021 Capitol riots.
Hostetter was convicted of four felony charges, including conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding and trespassing with a deadly weapon.
Prosecutors argued that Hostetter planned with others for months to obstruct the Electoral College vote count on Jan. 6, 2021, believing that the 2020 election was stolen.
On the day of the Capitol riots, Hostetter came prepared with tactical gear, knives, a hatchet, pepper spray and other materials.
Hostetter was charged alongside four other members of the group “DC Brigade,” which organized activity before the riots. Three other members were also found guilty at trial, while a fourth pleaded guilty to similar charges.
