Former Reform UK Wales Leader Faces Bribery Charges Over Pro-Russia Statements

Nathan Gill, former Reform UK leader in Wales, is charged with eight counts of bribery and one count of conspiracy to commit bribery.
Prosecutors allege Gill accepted payments to make statements benefiting Russia's stance on Ukraine in the European Parliament and media outlets.
The alleged payments were reportedly arranged by Oleg Voloshyn, who is not currently within the jurisdiction of UK authorities.
Gill was detained at Manchester Airport in 2021 under the Counter Terrorism and Border Security Act, leading to the current charges.
He has been granted conditional bail and is scheduled to appear at the Old Bailey on March 14.
