Former Schalke Coach Christian Gross Returns to Lead Zamalek SC

The 70-year-old Swiss coach takes charge of the Egyptian club for a second time, marking his return to football management after nearly four years.

Christian Gross, former coach of Schalke 04 and VfB Stuttgart, has been appointed head coach of Zamalek SC in Egypt.
This marks Gross's second stint with Zamalek, having previously coached the team from 2018 to 2019, during which he won the CAF Confederation Cup.
Zamalek SC, a 14-time Egyptian league champion, is currently second in the league standings with nine points from four matches.
Gross's first match in charge is scheduled for Thursday, December 19, against Ceramica Cleopatra in a home game.
The appointment comes nearly four years after Gross's last coaching role, following his dismissal from Schalke 04 in 2021 during a challenging Bundesliga season.
