Fraudster Sentenced for Attempted Sale of Falsely Claimed Queen Elizabeth II's Walking Stick

Dru Marshall, a 26-year-old man from Hampshire, England, attempted to sell a walking stick on eBay, falsely claiming it belonged to the late Queen Elizabeth II.
Marshall claimed he was a senior footman at Windsor Castle and that the proceeds from the sale would go to cancer research.
The auction reached 540 pounds ($686) before Marshall cancelled the listing upon learning of a police investigation.
Marshall was found guilty of fraud by false representation at Southampton Magistrates’ Court.
He was sentenced to a 12-month community order.
