• Maximus Freeman was diagnosed with Guillain-Barré syndrome in July 2024 and required ventilation and tube feeding in CHOC’s pediatric intensive care unit.
• By March 2025, Maximus had regained reflexes in his knees and feet and continues to make marked progress in his recovery.
• On May 26, Freddie and Chelsea Freeman donated $1 million to CHOC in gratitude for the hospital’s role in Maximus’s treatment.
• Chelsea Freeman served as honorary chair at the CHOC Foundation Gala, where she emotionally greeted the doctors, nurses and care teams who treated her son.
• The CHOC Foundation Gala raised $7.4 million to support the hospital’s pediatric care programs.
