Fugitive Child Rapist Arrested After 24 Years on the Run

Herman Carroll, 72, was captured in Branson, Missouri, following a tip to the U.S. Marshals Service.

Carroll disappeared in 2000 after posting bail for charges of sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl.
He had previous convictions for child sex offenses in 1983 and 1993.
A $10,000 reward was offered for information leading to his capture in 2022.
Carroll was known to live in homeless camps and work as a carpenter.
He is currently held in Taney County Jail, awaiting extradition.
