Gael García Bernal Stars as Gay Luchador Cassandro in New Biopic

Gael García Bernal plays the trailblazing gay wrestler Cassandro in the new biopic of the same name.
The film follows Cassandro's journey from amateur wrestling in Mexico to becoming an international luchador legend.
It premiered at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival and features a supporting cast including Bad Bunny, Raúl Castillo, and El Hijo del Santo.
Cassandro disrupted traditional views on sexuality and expression in the hyper-masculine world of Lucha Libre wrestling.
The film will be released in select theaters on September 15 before streaming on Prime Video starting September 22.
