Ganga Expressway Sets Two World Records in 24-Hour Construction Feat

The Uttar Pradesh project achieved certification for record-breaking road paving and crash barrier installation, with completion now projected for November.

Overview

  • Construction teams laid 34.24 lane kilometres of bituminous concrete and installed 10 kilometres of crash barriers in just 24 hours between Hardoi and Unnao districts.
  • The achievement has been officially certified by the Golden Book of World Records, Asia Book of Records, and India Book of Records.
  • The work was executed by UPEIDA in collaboration with Adani Road and Transport Limited and Patel Infrastructure Limited.
  • The expressway spans 594 kilometres, connecting 12 districts from Meerut to Prayagraj, with a proposed extension to Ballia, making it India's longest state-owned expressway.
  • Initially targeting a pre-Maha Kumbh 2025 completion, the project is now expected to be finished by November 2025.
