Getty Foundation Donates $17 Million for 2024 Art and Science Initiative

The Getty Foundation will donate $17 million in grants to support Pacific Standard Time: Art & Science Collide, an art initiative exploring the intersection of art and science set to launch in 2024.
The initiative will involve over 50 cultural organizations and 800 artists in exhibitions, performances, conversations, and other events across Southern California.
Pacific Standard Time began in 2011 focusing on Southern California art history and continued in 2017 centering Latino and Latin American art.
The 2024 edition will feature topics like climate change, ecology, global cultures, Indigenous futurism, and visions of the future.
Most events will open in September 2024, and some art may be toured internationally after the initiative.
