Ghanaian Footballer Raphael Dwamena Dies After Collapsing During Match

28-year-old Striker with History of Heart Problems was Leading Scorer in Albanian Super League

  • The player had a history of heart problems, having collapsed during a match in Austria in 2021, after which he reportedly underwent a heart operation and had an automatic defibrillator implanted.
  • Despite his health issues, Dwamena continued his football career, playing for clubs in Spain, Switzerland, Austria, and Denmark, and was a former youth player at Red Bull Salzburg.
  • The Albanian Football Federation, the Ghana Football Association, and several of Dwamena's former clubs, including Levante and Real Zaragoza, have expressed their condolences and paid tribute to the player.
