Google Maps Introduces In-Tunnel Navigation Feature

The new feature, currently available only on Android, uses Bluetooth beacons to provide real-time traffic data inside tunnels.

Google Maps has introduced a new feature that allows the app to navigate inside tunnels by using Bluetooth beacons.
The feature is currently available only on the Android version of the app.
Bluetooth beacons are installed in several cities across the globe, including New York City, Chicago, Boston, Paris, Rio de Janeiro, Brussels, and others.
The feature needs to be manually enabled in the Navigation Settings of the Google Maps app.
The feature was first spotted by some users in October 2023, but now it appears to be widely rolling out.
