Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida has offered alternate pronunciations of his own name.
He has alternated between "Deh-Santis" and "Dee-Santis" in various speeches and videos.
Representative Rich McCormick of Georgia and Mr. DeSantis's wife consistently say "Deh-Santis."
Mr. DeSantis has no easy way out of the name question and may offer more clarity in future campaign advertisements.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese of Australia has also alternated the pronunciation of his last name.
