- Michel was also paid by China to try and convince the U.S. government to extradite a Chinese dissident living in America.
- Witnesses at the trial included Leonardo DiCaprio and former U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions.
- Michel claimed he was simply trying to build a new career and received bad legal counseling.
