Guillain-Barré Syndrome Death Toll in Pune Rises to 11

Two more deaths reported as health officials warn of increased mortality among critical patients despite a decline in new cases.

The latest deaths include a 37-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman, both treated in Pune hospitals for suspected GBS complications.
The total number of GBS cases in Maharashtra stands at 211, with 183 confirmed and 28 suspected cases.
Health officials report that 39 patients remain in ICUs, with 18 on ventilator support, while 139 have been discharged after treatment.
The outbreak has heavily impacted areas in and around Pune, including Nanded City and Baramati, with ongoing concerns about critical patient outcomes.
Guillain-Barré Syndrome is a rare immune disorder that attacks peripheral nerves, often linked to infections and causing muscle weakness or respiratory issues.
