Gwyneth Paltrow ‘Proud’ of Popularizing ‘Conscious Uncoupling’ During Divorce

Gwyneth Paltrow reflected on coining the term "conscious uncoupling" to describe her 2014 divorce from Chris Martin.
Though relationship coach Katherine Woodward Thomas originally coined the phrase in 2009, Paltrow and Martin faced criticism for using it to announce their split.
Paltrow has since come to appreciate the term's impact in helping couples end relationships amicably.
Paltrow clarified that while she did not coin the phrase herself, she's proud to have helped popularize the concept of conscious uncoupling.
