Haleon Recalls Robitussin Cough Syrups Due to Microbial Contamination
Immunocompromised individuals at risk of severe or life-threatening adverse events; no reports of adverse reactions received so far.
- Haleon PLC has voluntarily recalled eight lots of its Robitussin Honey CF Max Day Adult and Robitussin Honey CF Max Nighttime Adult cough syrups due to microbial contamination.
- The contamination could potentially result in severe or life-threatening adverse events such as fungemia or disseminated fungal infection, particularly in immunocompromised individuals.
- Although life-threatening infections are not likely to occur in non-immunocompromised consumers, the occurrence of an infection that may necessitate medical intervention cannot be completely ruled out.
- Haleon has not received any reports of adverse reactions related to the recalled products.
- Consumers who have purchased the products are advised to stop consumption immediately and contact their healthcare provider if they experience any problems.
