Hannover Sees Two Violent Incidents in One Day, Police Investigate

A brutal assault at the main train station and a separate knife attack near a homeless outreach center leave multiple victims and suspects in custody.

  • The victim sustained head injuries from punches and kicks but is reported to have only minor injuries; the suspect was arrested at the scene and will face a judge on Monday.
  • Later on Sunday, a knife attack near the Stellwerk, a facility for homeless individuals, left two men injured, aged around 20 and 40, with non-life-threatening wounds.
  • The knife attack occurred in the afternoon, with one victim suffering facial and neck injuries and the other a head wound and a superficial cut; both were hospitalized.
  • Police quickly apprehended the suspected knife attacker and detained another individual for questioning as investigations into both incidents continue.
