Heavy Traffic Expected on Bavarian Roads During Faschingsferien

The ADAC warns of significant congestion on routes to ski resorts and urban centers as holidays and winter sports season coincide.

Bavarian schools will be on Faschingsferien from March 3 to March 7, leading to increased travel starting February 28 through the weekend.
The ADAC predicts heavy traffic on routes to southern ski regions, including the A8, A7, A95, and the Brennerautobahn A13, with additional delays from ongoing construction projects.
Traffic congestion is also expected in urban areas hosting Fasching celebrations, with road closures and detours planned for parades and events.
Winter weather conditions, including potential snowfall and icy roads, may further complicate travel and extend journey times for drivers.
Return traffic on Sunday, March 2, is expected to be particularly intense as holidaymakers and day-trippers head home, especially in the afternoon and evening.
