Hollywood Agent's Son Charged with Murder of Wife and In-Laws
Victim had expressed fear of losing custody battle due to husband's influential father, according to friends.
- Samuel Haskell IV, son of a former Hollywood agent, is charged with three counts of murder, accused of killing his wife, Mei Li Haskell, and her parents, Gaoshan Li and Yanxiang Wang.
- Mei had reportedly told friends that she wanted to divorce Samuel, but feared his powerful Hollywood agent father would ensure she lost custody of their three children.
- Authorities allege Samuel was observed dumping a trash bag into a dumpster that contained a human torso, believed to be Mei's. The remains of Mei's parents have not yet been found.
- Neighbors reported unusual activities at the Haskell home around the time of the alleged murders, including an odor that smelled like rotting flesh and sounds of a child yelling out for help.
- Samuel is currently in custody of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and is being held without bail. The couple's three children are in the custody of his parents.
