Houston Activist Roda Osman Accused of GoFundMe Scam

Surveillance Footage Contradicts Claim of Assault by Brick, Reveals Previous Similar Scam

Roda Osman, a 33-year-old black Muslim activist from Houston, has been accused of creating a fraudulent GoFundMe campaign, raising over $40,000 by claiming she was assaulted with a brick.
Osman's initial claim was that an unknown man threw a brick at her head when she refused to give him her phone number, and then attempted to kidnap her, alleging the man was involved in human trafficking.
Surveillance footage and witness accounts contradict Osman's story, suggesting she was hit with a water bottle during an argument, not a brick.
Osman has been charged with felony theft by deception, and it was discovered she had conducted a similar scam in 2020.
Osman is currently out on bail after being charged with felony assault and domestic violence over another incident.
