Ian McKellen has revealed he is considering returning as Gandalf for two new Lord of the Rings films centered on Gollum.
The new project, The Hunt for Gollum, will be directed by Andy Serkis, who also reprises his role as Gollum.
Scripts for the upcoming movies are expected to arrive in 2025, with a tentative release planned for 2026.
The films may explore Gollum's experiences with Sauron and his journey to the Shire, as well as Gandalf and Aragorn's mission to find him.
Other original cast members, including Orlando Bloom as Legolas, are also in talks to return.
