Illegal Immigrant Charged with DWI in Death of St. Louis Police Officer

Ramon Chavez-Rodriguez, a Honduran national, was driving drunk and speeding when he struck and killed Officer David Lee on Interstate 70.

Chavez-Rodriguez had a blood alcohol content of .10, above the legal limit, two hours after the crash.
The suspect was already on probation for a 2020 domestic assault and DWI case involving the attempted vehicular assault of a woman.
Chavez-Rodriguez, who was in the U.S. illegally, is being held without bond and faces multiple charges including DWI resulting in death and speeding.
