India Issues 71 GST Notices to Online Gaming Firms for ₹1.12 Trillion

- The Indian government detected a total of ₹1.51 trillion ($20 billion) in GST evasion in the current fiscal year, recovering ₹185.4 billion ($2.5 billion) so far.
- The highest tax evasion of ₹844 billion ($11.3 billion) was detected in the industrial state of Maharashtra.
- The government has amended tax laws to ensure the highest GST slab applies to online gaming companies, casinos, and horse racing clubs from October 1, 2023.
