Overview

• EOS-09 (RISAT-1B) will launch aboard PSLV-C61 from Sriharikota on May 18, 2025, at 6:59 AM IST, entering a sun-synchronous orbit for consistent imaging conditions.
• The satellite features a state-of-the-art C-band synthetic aperture radar, enabling high-resolution, all-weather, day-night imaging capabilities.
• Designed for strategic surveillance, EOS-09 will bolster national security by monitoring borders with Pakistan and China, detecting infiltration, and supporting anti-terror operations.
• With five distinct imaging modes, the satellite also supports civilian applications, including agriculture, forestry, soil moisture assessment, flood monitoring, and disaster management.
