India's February GST Revenues Rise 9.1% to ₹1.84 Lakh Crore

Strong domestic business activity drives a 10.2% increase in domestic GST collections, while growth from imports slows to 5.4%.

  • India's gross GST collections for February 2025 reached ₹1.84 lakh crore, reflecting a 9.1% year-on-year growth compared to ₹1.68 lakh crore in February 2024.
  • Domestic GST revenues grew by 10.2% to ₹1.42 lakh crore, while revenues from imports saw a more modest 5.4% increase, totaling ₹41,702 crore.
  • Net GST collections, after refunds, stood at ₹1.63 lakh crore, marking an 8.1% annual growth, with refunds rising by 17.3% to ₹20,889 crore.
  • Major states like Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Haryana reported significant GST revenue growth, ranging from 10% to 20%, while states like Gujarat and Telangana saw slower increases of 3% and 1%, respectively.
  • Chandigarh's GST collections also showed improvement, with February revenues rising 12% year-on-year to ₹236 crore, continuing a recovery after a decline in December 2024.
