Innocent Family Targeted in Sydney Drive-By Shooting

Attack on Merrylands home involved stolen vehicle and rifle, with police linking incident to organized crime.

A drive-by shooting early Saturday morning mistakenly targeted a Merrylands home occupied by a mother and her four young children.
Police believe the intended target, known to authorities, had moved out of the residence months earlier.
The offenders used a stolen silver or grey Nissan X-Trail, which was later set on fire in South Granville before they fled on foot through bushland towards Auburn.
Authorities are investigating potential links to organized crime, but the perpetrators remain at large.
The family was unharmed but left deeply shaken by what police described as a reckless and violent attack.
