IOC Approves 25 Russian and Belarusian Athletes for Olympics Under Neutral Status

Athletes from Russia and Belarus will compete without national symbols after meeting strict vetting criteria.

14 Russian and 11 Belarusian athletes have been cleared to participate in five sports.
The approved athletes cannot display their national flags, anthems, or colors.
A two-stage vetting process was used to ensure athletes had no ties to the military or support for the Ukraine invasion.
Notable athletes include defending Olympic champion Ivan Litvinovich and cyclist Aleksandr Vlasov.
Further approvals for athletes in other sports are expected in the coming days.
