IOC Votes to Strip International Boxing Association of Olympic Recognition

The International Olympic Committee executive board has recommended withdrawing recognition of the International Boxing Association over its failure to meet reforms.
The IOC had provisionally excluded boxing from the Los Angeles 2028 Games but has now decided to have the sport as part of the Olympic Games programme.
The IOC will oversee the boxing competitions itself at the 2024 Paris Games.
The IBA criticized the decision and warned of retaliatory measures, while a rival organization called World Boxing has attracted initial support.
The IBA can still organize its own events, but its place at the 2028 Los Angeles Games is at risk.
