Irish Broadcasting Pioneer Kathleen Watkins Dies at 90

Kathleen Watkins was the first continuity announcer on Telefís Éireann, now RTÉ, appearing on its opening night in 1961.
She was a celebrated author of children's books, including the award-winning Pigín series.
Watkins was a talented harpist and folk singer, contributing significantly to Ireland's cultural landscape.
