- Sgt. Shoam Moshe Ben-Harush, a 20-year-old Israeli soldier from the Nahal Brigade’s reconnaissance unit, was wounded during the Hamas attack on October 7 and succumbed to his injuries, increasing the total number of slain soldiers, officers, and reservists to 310.
- The number of people kidnapped and taken to the Gaza Strip on October 7 has been raised to at least 233 according to the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF), up from the earlier count of 228.
- Families of 229 of the kidnap victims have been informed by the military that their loved ones are currently being held in the Gaza Strip.
- The IDF also reported that four hostages — mother and daughter Judith and Natalie Ra’anan, and elderly women Yocheved Lifshitz and Nurit Cooper — have been released.
- The IDF accomplished a successful overnight airstrike, leading to the death of the commander of Hamas’s naval forces of the Gaza City Brigade, Rateb Abu Sahiban, who was behind a thwarted infiltration attempt via the sea on October 24.
