Jake Knapp Shoots Historic 59 to Lead Cognizant Classic

Knapp becomes the 14th player in PGA Tour history to break 60, setting a course record at PGA National.

Jake Knapp's bogey-free 59 marks the 15th sub-60 round in PGA Tour history and the first ever in Florida.
The round included 12 birdies, with five coming in his first five holes and three consecutive birdie streaks later in the round.
Knapp narrowly missed an 18-foot eagle putt on the 18th hole, which would have tied the PGA Tour record of 58 set by Jim Furyk in 2016.
His performance set a new Cognizant Classic scoring record, surpassing the previous mark of 61 held jointly by Brian Harman and Matt Jones.
Knapp, ranked 99th in the world, holds a four-shot lead after the opening round and is seeking his second PGA Tour win.
