Jakob Ingebrigtsen Sets Two Indoor World Records in Single Race

The Norwegian runner broke the mile and 1500m records at the Liévin athletics meeting, surpassing his own and a newly set milestone.

Jakob Ingebrigtsen broke the indoor mile world record with a time of 3:45.14 at the Liévin athletics meeting in France.
The previous mile record, set by Yared Nuguse five days earlier, was surpassed by more than a second.
Ingebrigtsen also broke his own 1500m indoor world record during the same race, clocking 3:29.63.
This marks a continuation of Ingebrigtsen's dominance, having won Olympic gold in the 1500m in 2021 and the 5000m in 2024.
The 24-year-old described the achievement as 'incredible,' highlighting Liévin as a special venue for his record-breaking performances.
