Jamie Dimon Defends Strict Return-to-Office Mandate at JPMorgan Chase

JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon has mandated a full return to the office for most employees, ending the company's hybrid work policy.
Dimon criticized corporate office workers, calling them the 'people in the middle' who resist returning to in-person work, while noting that 60% of Americans have always worked on-site.
He argued that remote work hinders collaboration, culture, and career development, particularly for younger employees, who he says are 'being left behind.'
An internal petition with nearly 2,000 signatures opposing the mandate was dismissed by Dimon, who stated, 'I don’t care how many people sign that petition.'
While defending the broader return-to-office policy, Dimon acknowledged the success of remote work for specific roles, such as call center employees, which he described as 'highly effective.'
