Jetoptera Completes Key Tests for J-500 Drone Propulsion System
The company successfully tested thrusters and passed the Critical Design Review for its innovative turbocompressor.
- Jetoptera has successfully conducted static tests for its 75 and 250 lbf-class thrusters at Moses Lake, Washington.
- The tests represent a significant milestone for the J-500 cargo drone's propulsion system, developed in collaboration with EANAN-Al-Samma.
- The thrusters, made from carbon composite materials, are lighter and more efficient than traditional solutions, capable of producing augmented thrust.
- Jetoptera also announced the successful Critical Design Review of its 250-kW jet fuel-powered turbocompressor, which will power the J-500.
- The turbocompressor, designed with Parametric Solutions Inc., is now entering the manufacturing phase, with a first demonstration expected in the first quarter of 2025.
