John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein to Write Lionsgate’s Monopoly Movie

The Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves filmmakers will adapt Hasbro's iconic board game for a film produced by LuckyChap and Hasbro Entertainment.

Lionsgate has secured John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein to write a screenplay for a movie based on the classic Monopoly board game.
The film will be produced by LuckyChap, known for its work on Barbie, alongside Hasbro Entertainment.
Monopoly, first released in 1935, is recognized as the world’s most popular board game, with nearly half a billion copies sold globally.
Daley and Goldstein previously collaborated with Hasbro on the 2023 film Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, which grossed over $200 million worldwide.
The project follows Lionsgate's acquisition of Monopoly’s film rights through its 2023 purchase of Hasbro’s eOne entertainment division.
