Stamos Reveals Abuse by Childhood Babysitter in Memoir

In his upcoming memoir, 'If You Would Have Told Me', actor John Stamos revealed his experience of sexual abuse by a childhood babysitter when he was around 10 or 11 years old.
Stamos mentioned that it took writing his book to realize that the incidents were inappropriate, and he initially didn't disclose the abuse as he considered it as 'girls' thing'.
The 'Full House' alum refrained from making the incident the focal point of his memoir or his advocacy work for abused children, explaining his reluctance to dominate the narrative.
In his memoir, Stamos also dives into the highs and lows of his career and personal life, including his journey towards sobriety which began with his DUI arrest in 2015.
Stamos, a longtime ambassador for the anti-child abuse organization ChildHelp, first confronted his trauma while preparing an acceptance speech for an advocacy-related award.
