José Carreras Gala Raises €3.5 Million for Leukemia Research

Operatic tenor José Carreras hosted the 30th edition of his leukemia charity gala, broadcast on MDR television.
The event raised over €3.5 million, surpassing the €3.3 million collected at last year's gala.
Since its launch in 1995, the José Carreras Leukemia Foundation has raised a total of €248 million to fund research, infrastructure, and social projects.
Prominent figures, including Tim Bendzko, Hansi Hinterseer, and celebrities like Sven Hannawald and Christine Neubauer, participated in performances and donation collection efforts.
Carreras, a leukemia survivor himself, expressed gratitude for the ongoing support, emphasizing the foundation's mission to combat the disease globally.
