Judge Denies Kari Lake's Request to Examine Ballot Envelopes

This marks the third unsuccessful trial for Lake, who insists she was robbed of the Arizona governorship in the 2022 election.

Former gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake's request to view ballot affidavit envelopes from the 2022 Arizona governor’s election has been denied by Maricopa County Superior Court Judge John Hannah.
Lake, who lost the election to Gov. Katie Hobbs (D-AZ) by more than 17,000 votes, insists she was robbed of the governorship.
This is Lake's third trial related to the election, following two other unsuccessful trials where her lawsuits were dismissed.
Judge Hannah argued that the release of the ballot envelopes would undermine the process of verifying those voters’ ballots in future elections, potentially leading to widespread voter fraud and exposing voters to harassment.
Lake has since launched a Senate bid for Sen. Kyrsten Sinema’s (I-AZ) seat.
