Kent Monkman and Gisèle Gordon Among Finalists for Governor General's Literary Awards

The Canada Council for the Arts has announced 70 finalists across seven categories, with winners to be revealed on November 13.

Monkman and Gordon's nominated work, 'The Memoirs of Miss Chief Eagle Testickle: Vol. 1,' features a time-traveling alter ego.
The fiction category also includes Canisia Lubrin, Jordan Abel, Paola Ferrante, and Oonya Kempadoo as finalists.
Non-fiction contenders include Niigan Sinclair, Danny Ramadan, and Helen Knott, among others.
The awards cover categories in both English and French, including poetry, drama, and children's literature.
Each of the 14 winners will receive a prize of $25,000, with the announcement set for November 13.
