Kerala Man Dies After Swallowing Drug Packets to Evade Police

The 28-year-old, under surveillance for drug-related activities, ingested MDMA packets and succumbed to complications despite medical intervention.

Iyyadan Shanid, a 28-year-old man from Thamarassery, Kerala, died after swallowing two packets of MDMA while attempting to evade police arrest.
The incident occurred in Ambayathode during a police operation targeting drug-related activities in the area.
Shanid was apprehended and taken to Kozhikode Medical College, where an endoscopy revealed two packets containing white granules in his stomach.
Despite emergency medical treatment, including plans for surgery, Shanid's condition worsened, and he was declared dead on Saturday morning.
Authorities have registered a case under the NDPS Act and are awaiting the post-mortem report to confirm the cause of death and the quantity of drugs ingested.
