Kerala Teen Dies After Violent Clash Over Farewell Party Dispute

Muhammed Shahabas, a 16-year-old student, succumbed to severe head injuries following a confrontation involving fellow students in Kozhikode.

The incident stemmed from a disagreement during a farewell party at a tuition center in Thamarassery, Kozhikode.
Shahabas was reportedly attacked by a group of students, with one allegedly using a nunchuck, a martial arts weapon.
After the clash, Shahabas initially appeared stable but later fell unconscious and died at Kozhikode Government Medical College Hospital.
Five students, all minors, have been taken into custody and face murder charges; they will appear before the Juvenile Justice Board.
Kerala's General Education Minister has ordered an official inquiry, with police and education authorities conducting investigations.
