Kevin Spacey Faces New Civil Sexual Abuse Lawsuit in UK

Actor Ruari Cannon files a claim against Spacey and the Old Vic Theatre, alleging misconduct during Spacey’s tenure as artistic director.

Ruari Cannon, a former actor, has filed a civil lawsuit in London’s High Court accusing Kevin Spacey of groping him in 2013 when Cannon was 21 years old.
The lawsuit also names the Old Vic Theatre, where Spacey served as artistic director from 2003 to 2015, as a defendant, alleging vicarious liability for the incident.
Cannon, who waived his anonymity, claims the alleged incident occurred at a press night after-party and has caused lasting psychological and professional harm.
This is the second civil sexual abuse lawsuit Spacey faces in the UK, following his 2023 acquittal of criminal charges involving allegations from four men between 2001 and 2013.
Spacey denies all allegations of misconduct, describing Cannon’s claims as 'ridiculous,' and asserting that similar accusations have not held up under scrutiny in prior legal proceedings.
