India Youth Games Weightlifting Ends with Record Feats and Firsts for Host States

  • Bihar’s Ujjwal Singh secured bronze, becoming the first athlete from the state to win a weightlifting medal at the Khelo India Youth Games.
  • Kerala’s Amrutha P. Suni took gold in the girls’ +81kg category, lifting 79kg in the snatch and 102kg in the clean & jerk.
  • Thirteen national youth records were set during the competition, with Maharashtra leading with five, followed by Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Assam, and Haryana.
