Their horse, Treasure, had odds of 16-1 and was bred by Queen Elizabeth II, who was passionate about horse racing.
Despite high hopes, Treasure finished second from last in the Oaks, a race twice won by the late Queen.
The King and Queen presented the winning trophies in the Coronation Cup, won by Luxembourg.
The event was marked by blustery, cold conditions, with the royal couple donning raincoats.
