King Charles and Queen Camilla's first Commonwealth visit since his accession was to Kenya, marking the 60th anniversary of the country's independence.
The visit, however, attracted controversy with protests on Mau Mau Road, a symbol of the Kenyan resistance against colonial rule, prior to the royal couple's arrival.
In a state banquet, King Charles expressed deep regret for the past wrongdoings of the crown during the colonial period, though he stopped short of issuing a formal apology.
Despite criticisms over a photograph showing the couple on a red carpet in a national park, the visit concluded successfully, strengthening ties between the British and Kenyan governments.
The visit included a range of engagements, from laying a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Warrior, visiting an elephant orphanage, to holding bilateral talks with President and First Lady Ruto, promoting causes close to the royal couple's hearts.
