Knicks Owner James Dolan Accused of Sexual Assault and Trafficking in Federal Lawsuit
Dolan allegedly pressured massage therapist Kellye Croft into unwanted sex and facilitated an assault by Harvey Weinstein; the lawsuit raises questions about Dolan's future as Knicks owner.
- James Dolan, owner of the New York Knicks and New York Rangers, is facing a federal lawsuit accusing him of pressuring massage therapist Kellye Croft into unwanted sex and setting her up to be assaulted by convicted sex offender Harvey Weinstein in 2013 and 2014.
- Croft alleges that Dolan used his power and influence to manipulate her into submitting to his sexual advances while she was working as a massage therapist on a concert tour with the Eagles, for which Dolan's band was the opening act.
- Dolan is also accused of trafficking Croft by flying her to Los Angeles under the guise of continuing her work as a masseuse for the Eagles, but in reality for his own sexual gratification.
- After an alleged sexual assault by Weinstein, Croft claims she informed Dolan, who dismissed the incident, allegedly stating that he and others close to Weinstein knew the man was a 'troubled person' with 'serious issues'.
- The lawsuit has raised questions about whether the NBA could force Dolan to sell the Knicks, as it has previously forced owners to sell their franchises for misconduct.
