LAFC won 3-2 against their crosstown rivals LA Galaxy for the first time at Dignity Health Sports Park.
LAFC captain Carlos Vela scored twice and had an assist in the victory.
The Galaxy have started the season 0-4-3 for the worst start in franchise history.
LAFC is the only remaining unbeaten team in MLS with a 5-0-2 record.
