Overview

• The conflict began with an argument between 43-year-old Tonnisha Mitchell and 42-year-old Gene Hill inside Mitchell’s vehicle on the night of May 23.
• Deputies say Mitchell beat Hill with a bat after they exited the car on Opelousas Street, causing him to collapse in the roadway.
• Hill was then struck by two passing vehicles and died at the scene, according to the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office.
• Mitchell was arrested at her home on May 25 and charged with manslaughter and second-degree battery; bond has not been set.
