Lashkar-e-Taiba Commander Abu Qatal Killed in Pakistan

The top LeT operative, implicated in deadly attacks in India, was reportedly killed under unclear circumstances in Jhelum, Pakistan.

Abu Qatal, a close aide of 26/11 Mumbai attack mastermind Hafiz Saeed, was a senior commander in the Lashkar-e-Taiba terror group.
He was involved in planning and executing multiple terror attacks in Jammu and Kashmir, including the 2023 Rajouri attack and the 2024 Reasi bus attack.
Qatal was named in an NIA chargesheet for his role in the Rajouri attack, which killed seven civilians and injured several others in January 2023.
His death occurred in the Dina area of Jhelum district, Pakistan, reportedly at the hands of an unidentified attacker.
Speculation around his killing includes internal Lashkar-e-Taiba rivalries, ISI involvement, or targeted elimination by an external force.
